Oceans Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

One fish two fish \u2013 red fish blue fish.
\nBlack fish blue fish \u2013 old fish new fish.
\nThis one has a little star.
\nThis one has a little scar.
\nSay! What a lot of fish there are.<\/p>\n

Six weeds five weeds \u2013 four weeds three weeds
\nBrown weed, green weed and red seaweed.
\nRockweed, Green Fern, Tufted Red
\nGrowing in our ocean bed.
\nFrom there to here, from here to far.
\nSay! What a lot of seaweeds there are.<\/p>\n

One jelly two jelly \u2013 three jellyfish
\nFloating, tentacled \u2013 no-belly fish.
\nPurple ones, Moon jelly, Lion’s Mane,
\nSea Wasp known to be bathers’ bane.
\nFrom there to here, from here to far.
\nSay! What a lot of jellyfish there are.<\/p>\n

One worm two worms \u2013 Flat worm, Tube worm,
\nArrow worm, Blood worm – Bristle worm, Plumed worm.
\nOn the crab a Limulus Leech,
\nSeldom seen apon the beach.
\nFrom there to here, from here to far.
\nSay! What a lot of worms there are.<\/p>\n

One snail two snails \u2013 Violet snail, Moon snail,
\nLimpet, Chink Shell \u2013 Waved whelk, Screw snail.
\nPeriwinkle, Tortoiseshell.
\nWhat’s the difference? – Hard to tell.
\nFrom there to here, from here to far.
\nSay! What a lot of snails there are.<\/p>\n

One valve two valves \u2013 shells in two halves,
\nBlue mussel, Horse mussel – pale green Yoldias.
\nScallop, Oyster, Clam with soft shell,
\nQuahog \u2013 that’s the one I can’t spell.
\nFrom there to here, from here to far.
\nSay! What a lot of bivalves there are.<\/p>\n

Buy fish sell fish \u2013 crusty shellfish,
\nTrapped and cooked, for sure are delish!
\nLobsters have a big old claw,
\nShrimp and crabs inspire awe.
\nFrom there to here, from here to far.
\nSay! What a lot of shellfish there are.<\/p>\n

Five arms six arms \u2013 seven armed, eight armed,
\nChanging colour when they are alarmed.
\nSome go pink and some go blue,
\nAll squirt ink all over you.
\nFrom there to here, from here to far.
\nSay! What a lot of octopi there are.<\/p>\n

One whale two whales \u2013 White whale, Blue whale,
\nPorpoise, dolphin \u2013 Humpback, a true whale.
\nThis one has a barnacled skin.
\nThis one has a dorsal fin.
\nFrom there to here, from here to far.
\nSay! What a lot of whales there are.<\/p>\n

The fish, the worms, the clams, the snails,
\nThe octopi and the great whales,
\nThey all live in the deep blue Ocean!
\nThese rhymes were made for its promotion.
\nJune eighth is cause for celebrations:
\nIt’s Oceans Day in all the nations.<\/p>\n
