The meeting of the Board of Directors of TREPA March 6, at 7:05 P.M. at Beacon Church location.<\/p>\n
Present-BarrieMacGregor, John Sollows, Jennifer Cunningham, Mike Raynard,\u00a0 <\/span>Jean Cleveland, John Kearney, Larry Deveau, Roy Fudge, and Ginny Smith.<\/p>\n Regrets: John Linder, Debbie Sullivan, Dan Earle, Dianne Klomp and Eko Raharjo.<\/p>\n Approve Agenda-Jean asked to add a point to the agenda under #1.\u00a0 <\/span>Moved by Michael, 2nd<\/sup> by Larry, approved by board.<\/p>\n Approved Feb. minutes Moved by Michael, 2nd<\/sup> by Larry.<\/p>\n Treasurer\u2019s Report- Not available at the time of the meeting, however, it was sent and was missed by the secretary.\u00a0 <\/span>The report has been attached.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n OLD BUSINESS:<\/b><\/p>\n 5.\u00a0 <\/span>Lobster draw-Barrie<\/b> will be at Carl\u2019s store for two days Friday and Saturday. Barrie and Ginny will sell tickets there.\u00a0 <\/span>The Carleton Canoe Rally is April 27,\u00a0 <\/span>Roy<\/b> will sell tickets there.<\/p>\n 6. \u00a0 <\/span>The letter related to residents and businesses in Dayton area, has not yet been responded to by the municipal council. The letter to Municipality of Yarmouth and the response will be discussed next meeting.\u00a0 <\/span>It was also mentioned that excavation for a building can be done before a permit for building has been given.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n We will be addressing issues where we have not had a consensus.\u00a0 <\/span>Letter to Municipality of Yarmouth will be discussed next meeting. \u00a0 <\/span> <\/b><\/p>\n NEW BUSINESS<\/b><\/p>\n 1. \u00a0 <\/span>There may be another area to be developed near a lake, at the old Y property. The individual who bought the property wants to develop it. We hope to encourage the municipal council to enforce the Riparian Buffer Zone.\u00a0 <\/span>We need to make a request to make a presentation to the Planning Advisory Committee.\u00a0 <\/span>It appears that the By Law needs to either be revised to take into account the Riparian Buffer zone or the enforcement needs to be addressed.\u00a0 <\/span>(By law 426).\u00a0 <\/span>We will prepare a presentation.\u00a0 <\/span>It is worth noting that John Cunningham is the Chair of the PAC. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 2.\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Bills-Volunteers of Canada- we owe- $125.00<\/p>\n 3.\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>AGM-booked and guest speaker accepted the invitation.<\/p>\n 4.\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Ground truthing \u2013We have been asked to send photos of ecologically endangered areas and species to i-Naturalists.<\/p>\n 5. \u00a0 <\/span>If we give Nova Scotia Nature Trust a sum of money, it can be quadrupled by the federal government before March 31,2019.\u00a0 <\/span>Since we are required to donate to other not for profit groups, Nature Trust seems like a good candidate this year.\u00a0 <\/span>We agreed that we would donate $500 to Nature Trust toward the purchase of Seal Island.\u00a0 <\/span>Moved by Roy Fudge, seconded by Michael Raynard.
