\"\"<\/a>At last, some positive news!\u00a0\u00a0The \u201cWhat we Heard Report\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, based on last summers\u2019 public consultations, was released on November 22nd, and it is pretty good.\u00a0\u00a0In fact, it is clear that they heard us on the importance of governance reform. Land use planning, buffer zones, and role of communities and municipalities are clearly reflected, as is the fact that many people\u00a0\u00a0think that aquaculture and tidal power need to be included.\u00a0They have also formally committed to some public consultations on the draft strategy.\u00a0They have used many of \u00a0thoughts and words suggested by the Coastal Coalition.\u00a0\u00a0All in all, progress is being\u00a0\u00a0made.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0You\u00a0can download the report (along with summaries of the open houses and the multistakeholder forum) at\u00a0http:\/\/gov.ns.ca\/coast<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
