Given Suncor’s massive ad campaign on the CBC, in movie theatres and online promoting their green image, SumOfUs produced this counter add.

The tar sands mega-giant is using shots of children playing and wind turbines to try and convince the public it’s green and innovative. But, Suncor is also lobbying against vital water laws in Alberta — laws that could prevent Suncor from dumping toxic tar sands tailings into the Athabasca River.

Next time you are buying shrimp at the super market flip the package over an look for point of origin. Yes, we do have Canada caught shrimp but you will never find it as the market is dominated by Thailand imports. Here’s the sad story on what we are buying and the practices we are supporting as reported in the New York Times.
