Participate in a nighthawk survey!

Everyone is invited to participate in a common nighthawk survey.  This is the first of what will become an annual event, coordinated by the Landbirds at Risk Project of Dalhousie University and collaborating with the Mersey-Tobeatic Research Institute.

The survey runs any evening between June 5 and June 12, between 8:30- and 10:00 P.M., and consists of reporting every common nighthawk detection and filling out a habitat data sheet.  the survey location is very broad:  wherever a nighthawk is likely to be or has been seen before.  It could even be off your cottage porch and/or over a lake!

For more information or to sign up for the survey, contact Laura Achenbach at landbirdSAR@merseytobeatic.ca.  Anyone can do the survey and anyone can sign up, provided they do it before or within the survey window.
