Climate change workshops – June 14,15.

Yarmouth Town and Municipality are joint municipal partners on the Yarmouth Atlantic Climate Change Adaption Solutions (ACAS). This is a fancy way of saying that climate change is going to effect our communities and we need to be making policy and planning decisions based on adaption to the inevitable changes. In the near future our political units will be required to develop Municipal Climate Change Action Plans. This workshop is a first step in a process. It will focus on illustrating potential changes in sea level in our region, discuss potential impacts, and gather anecdotal information of current changes perceived by the public. Be part of the process; be part of the solution; attend the workshop.

Community Workshops: Climate Change & Our Coast

Dalhousie University and the Atlantic Climate Adaptation Solutions Association invite you to discuss the coastal impacts of climate change and to share your thoughts about community assets that may be at risk.

June 14: 7-9pm @ Yarmouth Town Hall Council Chambers (400 Main St, Yarmouth)

June 15: 7-9pm @ Yarmouth District Municipal Building Councillors’ Wing (932 Hwy 1, Hebron)

Everyone is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be provided.

Yarmouth farmer market opening

This is to remind our TREPA group that the Farmers’ Market will reopen this Saturday, June 4th.

Visit the Grand Opening of the Yarmouth Farmers’ Community Market.

It will be open from 9:00am – 1:00pm and promises to be a memorable event.

There will be 25 + venders selling vegetables, meat, baked goods, candies. fruit smoothies, crepes, artisanal crafts, and much, much more!

The new indoor location at the historic Barn at 15 Hawthorn Street will enable the market to be open year round and be an anchor location for the revitalization plan for this street.

The mission is to provide locally grown, raised and produced products at their freshest in season at the weekly market!

Plans are to have live music, a children’s activity table, and from July to August, the “Green Sprouts” program for kids.

We hope our TREPA News readers will get out and support the market in its new location.
