TREPA reaches out

Margrit Robinson at the returns centre table

TREPA President, Margrit Robinson, worked with the IncrEdible Picnic group to put on a very successful afternoon event at Beacon Park in Yarmouth on September 11th. The weather was perfect, the food varied and delicious, and there was wonderful music coming from the bandstand.

And what do picnics generate? — recyclables, compostable, and some unrecoverable waste. Margrit was there to monitor and assist at the returns centre to make sure things got to the right container.  As she discovered, people don’t always know what is supposed to go where and some don’t even look. Thanks to Margrit we were able to raise awareness at the end of the picnic food chain.
